On the Arkansas River

Today was a day of few photographs but many memories as we rafted 20 miles of the Arkansas River. The river was extremely fast, cold, and provided non-stop action (we started with a 1-mile long continuous class III rapid!). The section of the river that we were on had spectacular views of the 14,000’ peaks around us. I can’t put the beauty of this area into words, so I will stop trying. The photo below is the view this morning from the front door of our hotel. I love it! Tomorrow we head over the mountains to the southwest corner of Colorado, and perhaps into Arizona, starting the 1200 mile journey to Fresno, CA to see my brother Paul and his family.
