Graduation and Departure Day

Graduation

At about 5:30 today, Paul walked across a stage and became the first of our children to graduate from High School! Paul is a member of the first ever graduating class of Ronald Wilson Reagan High School in Pfafftown, NC. John will follow in 2009, and Amy in 2010. Assuming (and hoping) that the children choose a 4-year college plan, we will also be attending graduation ceremonies in 2011, 2013 and 2014!

Departure

At 6:15 pm, the boys and I left Winston-Salem, where the ceremony was held, and headed north to VA. John is now driving us though the mountains of WV, and will reach Charleston, WV in a few minutes. From there we will take 64 west to St Louis. By Monday night we hope to be in the Colorado Springs area – 1500 miles from Clemmons, NC, but we are all in high spirits as we start this adventure, and that should make the miles fly. Three drivers and 70mph speed limits also help!
